…I was startled out of my misery by Brigette. THE Brigette. She was tall and had wavy red hair… and she had boobs. Oh, the thing I wanted most of all, besides being popular – boobs. I looked up at her in geeky awe as I handed her my yearbook to sign. She looked at me with a cool glance and scribbled something into my yearbook. Then she sauntered off. She was just so effortlessly cool.
I was so proud. Brigette had signed my yearbook!
I opened it up to see what wonderful words of popular wisdom she might have shared. Flipping madly to the back pages of the yearbook, I scoured the blank pages for her message. If she had only written her name I would have been thrilled.
Then I saw it. She had written one simple word in cursive.
“Eat.”
My heart dropped. If my face blushed I certainly would have blushed then. I slammed the yearbook closed hoping no one had noticed my reaction, or worse, seen what she had written…
